José Nicolas (1956) - Miss Senegal

José Nicolas is a French photographer whose work sits between documentary and personal writing. After several years of reportage, he develops a reflection on image, memory, and gaze, with particular attention paid to the archive, the book, and analog photography. He is notably the author of On est ce que l’on regarde, a work created following a distinction from SAIF, and today runs a photography gallery in Paris.
