Discreet aesthetic appearance. It powers on, takes the tape, ejects it, and does not heat. Sometimes the tape is visible, the tachometer spins; sometimes ours makes a few turns and stops, and when you pull it out there are 15 cm of tape unwound. So there’s certainly something to service, but nothing seems irreparable and it’s certainly due to twenty years of non-use.
The snap-opening of the regulation door doesn’t work and you have to open it by hand. But the mechanism isn’t broken (I’m talking about the plastic teeth).
