Mario Padovan (1927) - Rosso Blu 00432

This work was exhibited in Pozzuoli in 1985 for the collection “Sapere/Sapore: art in Italy 1958-1985.” Beginning in the 1970s, Padovan introduced geometric forms into his artistic production, placing particular emphasis first on the spiral and then, definitively, on the square, depicted both on the plane and in space. In the 1980s the geometry of the solid square was developed in all its possible variants, giving rise to a long series of works. The exploration of the square culminates in 1984, when Padovan was invited to present a solo room at the Venice Biennale.
