Description from the seller
Due to his unconventional lifestyle, Anton Heyboer was among the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent life was reflected in a number of marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world', referring to his high artistic output. Heyboer trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, albeit still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework, on the basis of which his abstract artworks emerged. Yet in his paintings and etchings there are always figurative elements present. Heyboer also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions: 28 x 39 cm
Dimensions with frame: 44 x 54 cm
