Description from the seller

Authentic and rare Art Deco crystal compote (fructiera) produced by the prestigious Belgian glassworks Val Saint Lambert.

This elegant piece features a heavy, clear crystal bowl with a classic radial swirl and starburst pattern, supported by an ornate neoclassical silver-plated pedestal base.

What makes this specific piece highly collectible is the signature. As documented in the Val Saint Lambert hallmark archives (Ref. No. 15), this specific acid-etched mark was used exclusively between 1923 and 1925 for "metallized" or hybrid glass-and-metal items. The signature "VAL ST LAMBERT BELGIQUE" is clearly visible on the interior center of the bowl.

Product Specifications:
Origin: Belgium
Manufacturer: Val Saint Lambert
Period: Early Art Deco (Dated 1923-1925)
Material: Lead Crystal & Silver-plated metal base
Height: 20.5 cm
Top Diameter: 22.5 cm
Base Diameter: 12.5 cm
Weight: 950 grams

The piece is in a very good vintage condition for its age (over 100 years old). The crystal retains its brilliant clarity with no chips or cracks. The metal base shows a beautiful deep aged patina, which can be polished to a high shine or left as is to preserve its antique character.
