Flight Unknown is a 40 by 40 cm limited edition giclée on canvas by Le Yack (Alexandre Pelletier), signed by the artist on the front and back, limited to 20 numbered copies, produced in France since 2020, with a certificate of authenticity and ready to frame.
Description from the seller
This figurative work plunges us into the suspended and impersonal atmosphere of a major airport terminal. In the foreground, a man seen from behind, dressed in a classic trench coat and a fedora hat, stands motionless, his hand resting on the handle of his silver suitcase. His gaze is fixed outward, through vast glass walls that bathe the polished floor in geometric, low-angle light typical of American realism. In the clear sky, the silhouette of a commercial airliner is outlined. The piece derives its strength from its deep narrative ambiguity: is the traveler watching the flight he has just missed? Is he waiting for the imminent arrival of a loved one? Is the aircraft in the midst of a majestic takeoff or beginning a tragic fall? This highly cinematic composition freezes a moment of urban solitude and absolute mystery, leaving the viewer as the sole author of the story.
