Description of the Album:
On November 26, 1991, Michael Jackson released Dangerous, an album that represented a bold shift in his musical direction. For the first time, he stepped away from his long-standing partnership with Quincy Jones and joined forces with Teddy Riley, helping bring the “New Jack Swing” style into the mainstream. Blending pop, funk, gospel, and industrial-inspired beats, the record became one of the most innovative productions of its time.
Dangerous topped the Billboard 200 for four consecutive weeks and featured unforgettable hits including “Jam,” “Black or White,” and “Remember the Time.” The album’s striking cover art, designed by pop surrealist Mark Ryden, took half a year to complete and hides numerous symbolic details inspired by Jackson’s personal story and the cultural atmosphere of the early ’90s.
