Description from the seller
"Scarlet" is a component of the Jelly series by photographer Ursula van de Bunte. It concerns a print on high-quality Hahnemühle Baryta paper treated with Renaissance wax, mounted on aluminum. The size of the photo is 25x25 cm and it is the second edition of 25.
The story of the Jelly is a tale of images full of softness, vulnerability and femininity. These handmade creations consist of 90% water, just like humans. In these translucent forms the photographer reveals/embeds unexpected elements. Ursula’s Jellys symbolize that delicate vulnerability, but they also stand for the softness and strength of women. The organic forms of the “appealing desserts” reflect the natural beauty and cuddliness of the female body. Transparent and pure, yet also unfathomable because you do not know what is happening inside. The photographer works with the latest Hasselblad equipment and creates her photography from a studio located in a monumental building in the Hanseatic town of Kampen. Her work is presented in museums, galleries and at art fairs.
