The petals detach one by one, rise, become ever smaller, they lose themselves in the warm gold that fills the whole sky of the canvas. There is no sadness in this — or perhaps there is, but of the beautiful kind, the kind that tightens the chest a little without weighing it down. The dark background holds the roots, but over everything else there reigns a nearly musical lightness: the red that becomes a note, the field that becomes air, the blooming that completes itself precisely at the moment it ends.
