Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Fountain pen Simplo Nº 2, made of resin/polyester, manufactured in Germany, dating to the second half of the 20th century.
Description from the seller
A0000004349
The pen is presented in excellent overall condition, especially noteworthy considering its age and nature as a piece from the 1920s–30s.
The body and cap in black ebony maintain a deep, uniform shine, with an elegant patina the passing of time has left. No cracks or deformations are observed, keeping a solid and well-preserved structure. The engravings, including the characteristic “Montblanc Simplo,” remain visible and legible, which adds collectible value.
The gold clip shows slight, uniform wear, with partial loss of the plating in line with age, contributing authenticity without compromising its aesthetics or functionality.
The 14-karat gold nib is in very good condition, well aligned and with no visible deformations. It preserves its original geometry and promises smooth writing, with the flexible character typical of these historical pieces.
The safety-type filling system is complete, with the mechanism present and no signs of aggressive tampering. As usual with this type of fountain pen, it shows signs of use consistent with its age, not affecting its integrity.
Overall, it is a very well-preserved piece, with an excellent balance between originality, functionality, and aesthetic presence, ideal both for collection and for occasional use.
Conservation recommendations
- Use high-quality fountain pen inks
- Avoid pigmented inks
- Clean with lukewarm water if not used for some time
- Dry before storing
- Store in a dry place away from direct light and extreme temperatures
- Operate the mechanism gently
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
