Charmante nature morte classique représentant un bouquet de fleurs généreux dans un vase bleu orné, peinte à l'huile sur un panneau de bois. L'œuvre est signée "V. Saurel" en bas à droite.
We appreciate the handling of the medium, with generous impasto that gives relief and texture to the petals of the flowers.
The painting is sold in its original frame, a magnificent Louis XV-style gilded frame, decorated with channels and rich corner cartouches (shell motifs and foliage).
Provenance: Acquired in 1987 in the North of France. Kept in a private collection since.
Condition report: The painting is very well preserved, the colors have remained luminous. The frame, authentically vintage, shows structural cracks at the joints of the four corners and light stucco crackling that do not detract from its decorative charm (see detailed photos).
A very beautiful decorative piece, ready to be hung.
