Ndoye Douts, born in 1973 in Sangalkam, Senegal. Lives and works in Dakar.
Graduate of the National School of the Arts of Dakar, Mouhamadou Ndoye Douts recreates in his work the chaotic universe of African cities. Medina, the neighborhood where he lives and works, is his main source of inspiration. He has a taste for detail and his brush has an allusive force that recalls the style of expressionists. Human silhouettes are intentionally suggested by blurred, neglected outlines.

Exhibited at Beaubourg in 2005 during the Africa Remix exhibition, Douts is also a filmmaker and has won an award for an animated film: “Train-train Medina.”

Diplômé de l’Ecole nationale des Arts de Dakar, Mouhamadou Ndoye Douts recrée dans son oeuvre l’univers chaotique des villes africaines. Médina, le quartier où il vit et travaille, est sa principale source d’inspiration. Il a le goût du détail et son pinceau a une force allusive qui rappelle le style des expressionnistes. Les silhouettes humaines sont volontairement suggérées par les contours flous, négligés.

Exposé à Beaubourg en 2005 lors de l’exposition Africa Remix, Douts est
également vidéaste et a été primé pour un film d’animation : “Train-train Médina”.
