The painting is 15 by 21 cm visible in the mat and the frame is 31 by 37.5 cm.

Oil on panel.

The painting itself is signed and I believe the artist's name is also on the back of the panel.

In the upper left corner some paint is missing (see photo 10).

Son of Willem Maris, member of the famous Maris art family (The Hague School)
Education at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and in Antwerp
Travelled to Paris, Italy and Brussels for further artistic development
Settled in Amsterdam around 1900.
