BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST:
The Catalan painter based in Godella, Alfonso Ortuño (Barcelona, 1925 - Godella 2011), who perfected his technique at the Círculo de Bellas Artes, moved to Valencia at ten years old and began painting from a very young age.
Ortuño was a contemporary of painters such as Bronchú of Godella, Mir, Segrelles, or Berenguer, and belonged to a generation of artists who began with impressionism and evolved into their own style.
Alfonso Ortuño's work, although it had a greyer period, in his maturity color became a great protagonist. The spatula was his brush in many of his works, in his landscapes, his rain scenes, seascapes, portraits, or still lifes, and he painted Mediterranean scenes inspired by his feelings.
