Description from the seller

An extraordinary opportunity to acquire a museum-grade piece of Alfred Dunhill history. This Rollagas lighter is part of the prestigious 1999 "Great Golf Courses of the World" series, commissioned by Dunhill and designed by the celebrated artist Harold Riley.

This specific unit is not a standard limited edition; it is a confirmed prototype/pre-production piece, uniquely engraved with the serial number 000/000 on the baseplate.

Artistry & Design:
The lighter is crafted from solid .925 Sterling Silver with deep, high-relief casting:

The Front: Features a masterful depiction of the St Andrews Clubhouse and the 18th green. It bears the artist's cast signature "Riley" and the date '99.

The Reverse: A detailed topographical map of the Old Course, showing the legendary layout of all 18 holes.

The Edge: Hand-engraved with "The Old Course, St Andrews."

Authenticity & Provenance:
This piece has been the subject of an official inquiry with Dunhill Heritage & Archives. Included in the sale is the correspondence from Dunhill Client Services confirming that this "000/000" unit is an exceptionally rare early production or special edition piece, with only one other known "zero" numbered copy existing in their records.

Technical Specifications & Hallmarks:
Material: Solid .925 Sterling Silver.

Hallmarks: Fully hallmarked for London, 1999 ("Z" date letter), with the "AD" (Alfred Dunhill) sponsor mark and the Lion Passant.

Mechanism: Classic Rollagas flint/gas strike. (Non-functional)

Origin: Made in England.

Serial Number: 000/000.

Condition:
The lighter is in fair vintage condition with some scratches, dents and wear but be known that this is a prototype non-functional lighter. The silver relief remains sharp with some signs of natural patina.
