Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand rollerball (Model 162) in black resin with gold-plated trim, made in Germania, dating to the Fine XXth Century, serial VM1227935, about 12 cm long and 1.2 cm in diameter, in excellent working order with two localized wear marks on the nib cap edge and the barrel end, sold without original box.
Description from the seller
In this section we present a true giant of elegance, the perfect instrument for those who love pens of substantial size with a solid grip: the Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand (Model 162) Rollerball in fine black resin. Compared to the Classique model, the LeGrand line is distinguished by a larger barrel diameter and a decidedly more imposing silhouette, giving the user an incredible sense of solidity while writing. The design embodies the quintessence of Montblanc luxury, with the iconic precious black resin and the hefty gold-plated finishes. On the powerful central triple ring is finely engraved the maison’s inscription, while at the top rises the traditional six-point white star. The interior reveals the excellent build quality of the robust metal threading, designed to last for generations.
The overall state of conservation of the object is evaluable as excellent, as the resin maintains a splendid overall shine and the gold plating remains very warm and bright. However, for absolute transparency, it must be noted that there are two specific localized wear markings, well documented in the macro photographs: a chip with visible resin loss on the lower edge of the cap, exactly below the band of the three golden rings, and a series of superficial wear scratches on the terminal rounded part of the barrel. Excluding these two localized aesthetic imperfections, which attest to its past as a faithful daily work tool, the pen remains structurally solid, the cap screws on smoothly and precisely, and it is perfectly ready to write again immediately. The roller is offered individually, without its original box.
