Description from the seller

beautiful antique French amber cheroot or cigarette holder in its original fitted leather case (étui), in good condition consistent with age.
The tapered mouthpiece is crafted from genuine cherry amber — warm honey tones with characteristic depth and translucency. The end is fitted with a gold collar mount, hallmarked with the French eagle's head, the French assay mark guaranteeing 18 karat (750/1000) gold purity, used in France since 1838.
The holder is housed in its original black leather étui lined with purple/violet velvet and silk, with decorative gilt-dot border trim. The case shows honest wear commensurate with age; the interior remains intact.
Material: Natural amber with 18K gold mount
Dimensions: 8.3 x 1.5 cm
Weight: 9 grams
Hallmark: French eagle's head (18K gold)
Case: Original black leather étui, purple velvet lined
Period: Circa 1880–1910, France
Condition: Good antique condition; minor surface wear to amber, case shows age-related patina
A refined piece of French Victorian/Belle Époque smoking antiques, ideal for collectors of objets de vitrine or smoking accessories.
