René Francisco Rodríguez (born 1960) is a Cuban contemporary artist, curator, and educator recognized for his socially engaged and conceptual approach to art. Born in Holguín, Cuba, he studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, where he later became an influential professor and mentor to younger generations of Cuban artists.
His work combines painting, installation, and participatory projects, often addressing themes such as identity, community, politics, and everyday life in Cuba. René Francisco is especially known for integrating social practice into his artistic process, collaborating directly with communities and challenging traditional boundaries between art and activism.
