Narcís Galià was a Catalan painter of the 20th century linked to the Mediterranean landscape tradition, highlighting especially his luminous harbor and maritime scenes. His work is characterized by a loose and impasto brushstroke, with a marked sensitivity toward coastal light and traditional seafaring life.

The work represents an animated Mediterranean port scene starring several fishing boats beached beside a small coastal town. In the center of the composition stands a religious building with simple lines, surrounded by traditional buildings that add depth and local character to the scene. Various figures work beside the boats and nets, reinforcing the everyday and human character of the landscape.
