Acrylic on canvas, signed, titled and dated on the back. Hanging system.
Alex Claude "Le paysage comme matière à sensation"
Between abstraction and reminiscence, Alex Claude paints imaginary landscapes that unsettled as much as they soothe. Each canvas is a sensory journey: drips, erasures, rubbings and transparencies overlap there in a rare gestural mastery.
A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris with honors from the jury, he develops a pictorial language where the gaze loses its bearings but never its emotion. Without preparatory drawing, he instinctively composes suspended spaces, distant horizons, as many echoes of an inner world.
Present in the collections of the BNF and museums in France and internationally, Alex Claude regularly exhibits in galleries, fairs and institutions. His work, recognised for its atmospheric depth, appeals to collectors and enthusiasts of contemporary painting.
