Sam Francis, SFS 243, 1968, colour screenprint, edition 9/300, hand signed, framed, excellent condition, sheet size 103.8 × 70.2 cm, United States, Abstract Expressionism, published by Minami Gallery, Tokyo.
Description from the seller
A large screenprint in colours by Sam Francis, in cataslogue as SFS 243, created in 1968.
This work is printed on commercial-grade matte paper, using the full sheet, and is hand-signed and numbered 9/300 in pencil.
Published by Minami Gallery, Tokyo, and presented framed.
The composition is a example of Sam Francis’ late 1960s graphic work, with a powerful balance between open white space and vivid abstract colour fields.
Deep red vertical and angular forms, a dark blue horizontal band, green lower accents and touches of orange create a dynamic frame around the central space.
The work reflects Francis’ characteristic interest in colour, gesture, emptiness and movement, making it highly decorative while remaining an important collectible from the post-war abstract period.
Condition: Good overall condition, with strong colours and an impressive visual appearance. The work is framed. Some light signs of age, handling or small imperfections may be visible, consistent with a work from 1968 but the condition in general is very good.

Due to the large size of the work and the substantial framed presentation, this lot requires extra care for transport and handling. The print itself is large, and the frame is also solid, heavy and quite sizeable. For this reason, collection in Prague is strongly preferred. Shipping can be arranged if necessary, but it will require careful professional packing and extra handling to ensure the artwork is properly protected during transport.
I will return the differnece between the shipping cost and the real cost to the buyer. But at the moment i need to calculate a 280 euros base line for shipping.
