Nico Molenkamp’s GIraffe is a hand-signed Zeefdruk in a limited edition of 140/200 from the 1990s, sold with frame by Galerie, depicting animals in an abstract style, in good condition, originating from the Netherlands, with dimensions 115 cm by 106 cm.
Description from the seller
Nico Molenkamp's palette is often characterized by striking and tonal colors. Many of his canvases feature balanced gradations, unexpected accents and hues as well as bold contrasts. The depicted themes such as the circus, the fair, or the theater often appear deliberately 'flatly' painted and placed in a shallow space. The formal language of his animal and human figures has a sculptural appearance.
In Molenkamp's work it rarely concerns the representation of existing characters. He frames his subjects in a special and almost cinematic way. All figures are partly cropped. It is as if he, like a cameraman, keeps zooming in on his subject, while at the same time enlarging it. The monumental quality of Molenkamp's work contributes in part to viewers feeling as if they are on the subject's skin.
Beautifully framed
Dimensions: 107 x 99 cm
