Description from the seller
Ronald Tolman (born 1948) is a Dutch painter, sculptor, graphic artist and illustrator, known for his narrative and poetic visual language in which the human being is at the center. His work moves between reality and fantasy and often features figures that seem to balance between dream, theater and symbolism. Tolman works both monumentally and intimately: from bronze sculptures in public spaces to paintings, etchings and illustrations. His style is characterized by expressive forms, movement and a strong emotional charge. In addition to his free work, he gained international recognition with the award-winning picture books he created together with his daughter Marije Tolman, including The Treehouse. Over the years he has developed a versatile oeuvre in which themes such as human vulnerability, imagination and connectedness recur.
Size of work with frame: 90 x 78 cm (without glass)
Size of work without frame: 65 x 55 cm
The work is viewable in our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay operates a framing workshop (this year their 85th anniversary) and a restoration studio. So if you would like to make use of these services, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
