Zippo Champions – windproof lighter in presentation box – produced June 1997 – F XIII
Original Zippo windproof lighter with brushed metal finish and featuring the characteristic “Champions” logo. Supplied in the original presentation box, which makes this specimen especially attractive to collectors of vintage advertising and promotional lighters.
This Zippo was manufactured in the United States and executed according to the classic windproof design the brand is known for worldwide. The lighter uses lighter fluid and features the iconic hinged lid and interchangeable inner workings.
Stamped on the bottom with date code F XIII, corresponding to production in June 1997. Promotional Zippos bearing Champion-related branding were particularly popular in the 1970s and 1990s, a period in which American automotive and motorsport brands produced many exclusive collectibles for garages, dealers and events. In particular, specimens with the original box are prized among automobilia and vintage advertising collectors. A nice piece of “garage gold” from a time when even a candle had more presence than a typical sports car lease today.
