Description from the seller

André Masson (1896-1987)
Erotic Drawings IV
1971

Original lithograph on Arches paper, signed in pencil by the artist, numbered 115/125 and bearing a “André Masson Véritable” dry stamp of authenticity.

This work belongs to the famous Erotic Drawings series published in 1971, a late period during which André Masson developed a particularly free and organic graphical language, blending erotism, surrealist automatism, and metamorphoses of the body.

The composition presents a female figure with fluid and sensuous lines, integrated into a universe of moving shapes typical of Masson’s surrealist aesthetic. The contrast between the large white spaces and the finely hatched areas gives the work great graphic elegance.

Printed by Bellini & Jobin and published by Claude Tchou, this original lithograph was realized on Arches paper in a limited edition of only 125 copies.

The work is:

* signed in pencil;
* hand-numbered 115/125;
