Description from the seller
Luciano Torsi
(Arezzo, 1937 – Livorno 2024)
“Campagna Toscana”
Oil on canvas, 35x50 cm, work completed in 1995.
Torsi is a painter who has succeeded in capturing the public’s attention with his paintings, rich in feeling, energized by colors but above all by the heart. In his paintings you can sense the scent of the seasons; you are spellbound by his little streams that gush with water, and the reflections, perfectly distributed, air the subject and harmoniously create a real landscape almost forgotten by the frenzy of today.
The “painter of the woods” and “of the small towns,” as Luciano Torsi has been defined, easily appealing to generalized public tastes, with his landscapes, his “woods,” the streams, the flowering meadows full of light and color, has made a mark on the public, occupying in homes that corner of familiarity that now seems almost necessary and indispensable.
People who have written about him: Renato Natali, Loriano Domenici, Salvatore Amodei, Bruno Damari, Mauro Barbieri, Luciano Bonetti. Many journals have covered his painting with important reviews, starting from “La Nazione,” to “Il Telegrafo,” and to “Il Tirreno.”
