Emilio Payés was born in 1935 in Alcoy (Alicante) and began painting at the age of 14. Since childhood he showed great talent for drawing.
He trained at the Alcoy School of Arts, but it was at 28 when he began painting professionally.
Emilio Payés's painting features landscapes, images of Paris, and port scenes. His work shows a contemporary style, though influenced by genre paintings and Impressionism.
He has exhibited in galleries in France and Chile. The French aristocracy, the Belgian aristocracy, and collectors are the largest holders of Emilio Payés's work.
