This Aura R1 is one of the first pre-released
Released in October 2008 with a staggering launch price of more than $2,400, it was built to resemble a high-end luxury Swiss watch technology combined with the idea of mobile Motorola comunication.
While it debuted right after the first iPhone shifted the world toward touchscreens, the Aura R1 remains legendary among tech collectors for its unprecedented hardware engineering.
Key Design and Engineering Highlights World's First Circular Screen: The standout feature is a perfectly round 1.55-inch liquid crystal display.
It features a sharp 300 DPI pixel density and displays 16 million colors.
Sapphire Crystal Lens: The round screen is protected by a 62-karat Grade 1 sapphire crystal cover to prevent scratches and reduce light refraction.Swiss Watch-Grade Mechanism:
The phone opens using a unique swivel rotation. The back features a clear glass window revealing a custom-engineered swivel mechanism with more than 200 parts, including Swiss-made bearings and tungsten carbide-coated steel gears.Premium Metal Shell: The phone casing is made of stainless steel.
