Luis Martinez, 'Encuentros IV – Distancia', a contemporary brass sculpture in gilt brass, 1/1 edition, 2026, 15 cm high, 17 cm wide, 10 cm deep, 320 g, hand-signed, sold directly by the artist, in excellent condition, mounted on a walnut-finish wooden pedestal.
Description from the seller
Description of the artwork:
Contemporary figurative sculpture in brass, entirely handmade.
Part of the series “Encuentros” (Encounters), focused on depicting human relationships through minimalist compositions and schematic figures.
The work presents two chairs facing each other, separated by a central expanding form, evoking the idea of distance, emotional tension, and incomunicability. The open lines and the movement of the metal suggest an energy contained between the two presences.
Sculpture placed on a wooden plinth with a walnut finish.
Unique piece, not cast or reproduced.
Hand-signed by the artist.
Will be delivered with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
Shipment with tracking and premium service (FedEx – UPS – TNT, etc.)
Dimensions: 15 cm height x 17 cm width x 10 cm depth
Weight: 320 g
Year: 2025
Origin: Spain
Condition: Excellent
Bibliography:
Artist and jeweler specialized in creating unique pieces in metal, where material experimentation becomes a medium of artistic expression.
My work originates from the technical knowledge of the jewelry craft, which evolves toward the exploration of broader formats, allowing me to develop a distinct sculptural language. Through brass and working with thread and sheet metal, I create compositions that combine lightness, balance, and tension.
My work sits within contemporary sculpture, with a focus on human relationships, emotional bonds, and the invisible structures that connect people. The figures, in simplified forms, contrast with heads built from woven thread, symbolizing the complexity of thought and emotion.
I am presently also experimenting with organic shapes inspired by nature, expanding my language toward new expressive lines.
Each piece is made entirely by hand, in a craft context, attending to detail and giving rise to original and unique sculptures.
