Description of ongoing auction

Crown lantern with double lens..usually this was positioned at the stern of ships..it signaled its position and course.
In the photos you will notice a very tiny crack on the upper part..fortunately it is very, very light...to the touch you can’t feel it...the glass remains very sturdy...I assure you it is very thick and resistant to the touch-

This item has substantial dimensions, height including the raised handle..about 58 cm.

Made by the firm G. FORCATO, city of VERONA ...it should be brass OR COPPER, with a double convex glass lens

Interior, as you can see from the photos, is without lamps... it has a beautiful patina...
