This lot celebrates the pinnacle of Todd McFarlane's career, including the two most important debuts in his publishing history:
Spider-Man #1 (August 1990): The famous "Silver Edition." McFarlane writes and draws a new Spider-Man title, breaking all sales records of the era. A issue that redefined the character's aesthetics with his spaghetti-webs and extreme dynamic poses.
Spawn #1 (May 1992): The outright debut of Spawn and the birth of Image Comics. After leaving Marvel, McFarlane creates his most famous antihero, marking the beginning of one of the longest-running and most successful independent series in comic book history.
Conditions and Details:
Edition: Original USA Issues (English Language).
Condition: Both issues are in excellent condition (NM - Near Mint). The covers are glossy, with no reading marks, with corners perfectly square. Spawn #1 cover maintains deep blacks and acid-like colors with no trace of fading.
Protection: Both comics come with protective sleeves and rigid boards (bagged & boarded) to preserve their condition over time.
