Description from the seller
Bodegón de Jaén is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This luminous, Mediterranean work that pays homage to the simplicity of the table in the south: olive oil, ripe tomatoes, black olives and the warmth of the sun on an intensely yellow surface. The composition transforms everyday elements into a vibrant and sophisticated scene, full of visual freshness and character.
The olive branches cascading from the top delicately frame the scene and evoke the Andalusian landscapes and the agricultural tradition of Jaén. The central plate, with open tomatoes and olives, becomes the heart of the painting, standing out for its contrasts between bright reds, deep greens and luminous reflections.
The piece combines expressive and spontaneous brushwork with a very clean compositional structure, close to modern poster art and Mediterranean colorism. The metallic cutlery and transparent glasses provide balance and elegance, while the palette of yellows, turquoises and greens creates a warm and contemporary atmosphere.
“Bodegón de Jaén” conveys the beauty of the small rituals shared around food and celebrates Mediterranean culture from a modern, joyful and deeply painterly perspective.
