Description from the seller
"Evolution No 4" is part of the Jelly series by photographer Ursula van de Bunte. It is a print on high-quality Epson paper on glossy acrylic. The size of the photo is 40x40 cm and it is the first edition of 12 copies.
The story of the Jelly is a narrative of images full of softness, vulnerability and femininity. These handmade creations consist of 90% water, just like humans. In these translucent forms the photographer embeds unexpected elements. Ursula’s Jellys symbolize that delicate vulnerability, but also stand for the softness and strength of women. The organic shapes of the ‘tempting desserts’ reflect the natural beauty and tactile appeal of the female body. Transparent and pure, but also unfathomable because you don’t know what is happening inside.
The photographer works with the latest Hasselblad equipment and creates her photography from a studio located in a monumental building in the Hanseatic city of Kampen. Her work is presented in museums, galleries and at art fairs.
