"Floral Still Life".
Oil on canvas mounted to panel.
Signed in the lower right corner.
Period: 1970-1980.
Measurements: 50 x 50 cm; 60 x 60 cm. (wooden support).
Provenance: private collection.
Condition: Good overall state of preservation, in keeping with its age.
No frame.
Carmen Espel was a Catalan painter born in Barcelona in 1926. She began her artistic training in the workshop of Armand Miravalls Bové and later studied with the painter Ramon Sanvisens, whose influence was fundamental in the development of her painting style.
Recognized especially for her floral still lifes, she developed a very personal body of work characterized by the prominence of color and a painting of great sensitivity. Her floral compositions constitute one of the most representative facets of her artistic career.
