Description
Xtort is the ninth studio album by the industrial rock pioneers KMFDM, officially released on June 25, 1996. The album was recorded during a transitional period for the project, following the closure of their Chicago studio and frontman Sascha Konietzko's relocation to Seattle.
The record became one of KMFDM's most commercially successful releases, breaking into the Billboard 200 chart. Xtort features a diverse lineup of guest collaborators, including Chris Connelly, William Rieflin, and F.M. Einheit (formerly of Einstürzende Neubauten). The album's iconic, aggressive comic-book-style cover art was created by the band's long-time visual collaborator, Aidan Hughes (Brute!).
Condition
Vinyl: Presumed MINT (unplayed)
Cover: Factory-sealed, never opened (Graded AMG 7 Very Good (VG+), Cert #50013499)
Notes for collectors
This particular copy is an exceptional artifact for industrial music enthusiasts. It is an authentic 1996 US first pressing that has been professionally authenticated, graded, and permanently encapsulated by Audio Media Grading (AMG). The archival label explicitly verifies its "First Pressing" and "Sealed" status.
In addition to its pristine archival state, the front jacket retains an original, vintage retail price sticker dated "7/03/96" (July 3, 1996)—just over a week after the album's street date—providing incredible historical provenance. Original 1990s vinyl pressings of seminal industrial albums are increasingly rare, and finding a verified factory-sealed copy in an archival slab is a true collector's milestone.
