Description from the seller
Oil painting by Reinier Arie (Rein) Dool (Leiden, February 3, 1933), a Dutch artist working as a painter, sculptor and ceramic artist.
This work is executed in oil paint and is characterized by the powerful formal language and the refined use of color for which Dool is known. The rich texture and depth of the oil paint enhance the expressive character of the composition.
From the eighties he increasingly dedicated himself to gouache and watercolors as well, with his work showing a growing simplification and stylization. Since then, form and color have played a more important role in his oeuvre than recognizability of the subject.
Dimensions: 100 x 100 cm
Dimensions with frame: 110 x 110 cm
Provenance: Private collection, The Netherlands
Viewing is of course possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we use restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, please let us know.
