Artist's description
Fault Line — Ignition Edge is part of the Fault Line series, an abstract exploration of the lines of tension that run through matter, emotion, and memory. In this piece, the fracture appears as a vibrant boundary between darkness and light, between containment and expansion.
The composition is built from two strongly contrasting color fields. The upper zone, in coal black and deep graphite, conveys density, silence, and weight. In contrast, the lower part unfolds into a luminous atmosphere of blazing coral, soft orange, apricot, peach, and streaks of warm red, as if the surface held an inner core of energy just about to emerge.
The line dividing the two spaces is the heart of the work. It is not a static boundary, but a living, irregular, vibrant crack that suggests erosion, combustion, and transformation. I was interested in giving that transition an almost geological presence, like a mineral edge or a thermal crack, but also an emotional reading: the moment when something held begins to reveal itself.
Texture plays an essential role in the work. The layers and variations of the surface cause the painting to change with the light, adding depth, movement, and a very physical presence. Up close, nuances, edges, and resonances appear; from afar, the image simplifies into a powerful, elegant, and contemporary gesture.
Fault Line — Ignition Edge is a piece with strong visual impact. Its balance between darkness and glow makes it an intense, sophisticated, and highly architectural work, designed for spaces where art acts as a focal point of energy and character.
