Description from the seller
This work is by the Dutch photographer Hans Wilschut (Ridderkerk, 1966), who focuses on industrial and urban landscapes. His background as a painter is clearly visible in his photographic style, where composition and light play an important role. Through the use of long exposure times, his work often creates a nearly extraterrestrial, painterly light. The absence of people enhances the sense of stillness, giving his images a detached yet poetical and romantic atmosphere. The modern city is thus depicted as a universal landscape, detached from its inhabitants and daily life.
In this case, Wilschut has captured the Frisian town of IJlst, with the characteristic atmosphere of his work clearly coming to the fore.
Dimensions: 76 x 99 cm
Dimensions with frame: 79 x 102 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, please let us know.
