This model represents a monumental milestone in mobile telecommunications history, as it was Nokia’s very first commercial 3G (UMTS) device, marking the beginning of the high-speed mobile internet era.

- Authentic Prototype Markings: The type label displays the markings "PROTO S6.68" and "HWID: 9111".
- Development Software:** The phone runs an early R&D development software build (Vp14.00, dated 04-04-03).
