“Figura con cuernos” presents a work with strong pictorial presence, built from the frontal stance of a hybrid figure, between portrait, animality, and symbol. The image does not seek an anecdotal reading, but a contundent presence: a figure affirmed at the center of the composition, with a direct gaze and a formal structure that conveys character, tension, and solidity.
The composition centers on the face, treated with broad planes, defined contours, and a geometry that fragments the figure without diminishing its force. The horns, the hat, and the frontal gaze act as essential elements of the image, reinforcing a sense of contained power. The figure appears almost like a contemporary icon, resting on a firm and balanced chromatic structure.
Color adds density and warmth to the work. Ocheres, oranges, reds, and earth tones build a warm and powerful atmosphere, while blues, greens, and blacks introduce contrast, depth, and visual stability. This relationship between warm and cool tones allows the figure to emerge strongly from the background, as if suspended between the human, the animal, and the ceremonial.
The brushwork maintains visible energy, with areas of open stroke, vibrant matter, and gestures that give vitality to the surface. At the same time, the construction of the face and body preserves a strong compositional firmness. That tension between gestural freedom and geometric structure is what gives the work its visual weight and its personality.
