Statement:
This image is part of the project "Connections" which explores the tension between separation and bond, weight and lightness, matter and void. Natural objects – stones, woods, roots – appear suspended, floating in a neutral space, in silent dialogue with one another. Broken, united, re-sewn, or simply juxtaposed, the materials evoke fragile yet intentional relationships, minimal gestures that speak of resilience, care, and recomposition.
Each image becomes a fragment of a broader reflection on the human need for connection: not as fusion, but as the possibility of contact even at a distance. The suspension in space excludes context, emphasizing the essence of the relationship between forms, and offering the viewer a suspended time in which to observe, listen, and feel.
"Connections" does not document the object, but the emotional state that binds it. It is an invitation to consider the invisible that holds things together, the delicate gesture that unites, and the void as an active space of meaning.
Biography:
Gianluca Micheletti began his steps in the world of photography in 2011, after dedicating himself to other disciplines. His passion for the visual arts led him to attend courses and workshops, culminating in a significant experience in Berlin in October 2012, which convinced him to pursue a more structured path. In 2013 he won a scholarship at the Italian Institute of Photography in Milan, consolidating his training and winning the Project Book in 2014.
In 2014-2015 he attended the Art Graphic Engraving workshop at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bergamo, further expanding his visual language and his relationship with traditional techniques.
Today he works as a professional photographer, primarily involved in corporate photography and product still life, without neglecting personal research through reportage projects and fine art photography.
Over the years he has received numerous international recognitions, including prizes at the Moscow International Foto Awards, the Tokyo International Foto Awards, the ND Photography Awards, and the Prix de la Photographie Paris. In 2022 he won Gold Winner in the Fine Art / Digitally Enhanced category with the project "Dream Machine".
His works have been exhibited in solo and group shows in Europe and beyond, including Rovinj Photodays (Croatia), Kaunas Photo Festival (Lithuania), Shibuya Cultural Center (Tokyo), Milano Photo Festival, Paratissima Art Station (Turin) and Der Greif at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. In 2024 he participated in the collective Surreal Exhibition in Glasgow and in Fotografie Urbane during the Trieste Photo Days. He also exhibited at the Liquida Photofestival in Turin in May 2025.
His photography combines technique and personal vision, exploring themes ranging from documentary to artistic experimentation.
