Tere Ormazabal, born in Bilbao, Spain.
Artistic photographer with a long career in creation, teaching and institutional collaboration.
Graduated in Geography and History from UPV/EHU, she has developed work focused on artistic photography and alternative techniques such as cyanotype, Van Dyke brown, liquid emulsion, lithographic film and image transfers both Polaroid and digital emulsion transfer.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous venues and cultural centers in the Basque Country since the late nineties and has received national photography awards.
Work details:
This work is transfer number 0501.
Emulsion size 39.5 x 26 cm. Paper size 68 x 47 cm
Unique piece, signed by the artist on the front of the photograph.
Includes authenticity certificate signed.
High-quality print with pigment ink that guarantees a museum-quality finish and ensures it remains unaltered over time.
The print is carefully packed with protective material to ensure proper conservation during transport.
Description of the digital emulsion transfer technique
It is a technique I have personally refined, inspired by the classic emulsion transfer of the Polaroid instant film, but adapted to the digital workflow.
It consists of printing an image with pigment inks onto a support prepared so that, when immersed in cold water, the ink layer (the emulsion) can separate and be manually transferred to a quality art paper. During the process the image is manipulated directly, generating slight variations, textures and folds that make each print a unique piece.
Transfers can be made in different sizes—from up to A2—and both in color and black and white. The result blends digital precision with artisanal finish, with an image protected by a surrounding film so it does not scratch easily and has good durability.
