Galope Ardiente, 2026
Oil on canvas, 58 × 41 cm
Signed (lower left)
With extraordinary vitality, Luis Enrique González captures the precise moment when a powerful chestnut horse explodes into full gallop. The black mane waves forcefully, the legs extend in a fluid motion and dust rises beneath its hooves, conveying a sense of speed, power, and boundless freedom.
The artist demonstrates notable technical mastery in handling movement: the loose, energetic brushwork shapes the tense musculature of the animal, while the warm highlights of the chestnut coat contrast with the darkness of the mane and tail. The soft, golden light envelops the scene, creating an ethereal backdrop that further highlights the energy and volume of the horse.
“Galope Ardiente” is a work that breathes life. It combines rigorous anatomy with a dynamic and expressive painting interpretation, making the viewer almost feel the wind and the thunder of the hooves. A painting that transmits strength, elegance, and pure passion.
This piece has a strong decorative and emotional presence: wherever it is placed, it fills the space with movement and vitality, becoming the center of attention and a constant source of admiration.
The work is carefully shipped protected in a transport tube to ensure its perfect conservation.
Artist Statement — Luis Enrique González
My work is a constant dialogue between light and form, where oil painting becomes a medium to explore the emotional and symbolic depth of reality. I am interested in nature and the human figure not only as visual motifs, but as living territories rich with stories, silences, and tensions. Through realism, I seek to reveal what hides in the everyday: fragility, strength, persistence, and beauty that manifest in gestures, in matter, and in the spaces we inhabit.
Chiaroscuro is, for me, a tool of thought. Through contrast, I find the internal structure of each image, the atmosphere that allows color to breathe and take center stage. I work with meticulous observation, hoping that each brushstroke preserves the sensitivity of the moment and, at the same time, a permanence that transcends the temporality of the depicted object.
My pieces sit at a crossroads between traditional academic practice and a contemporary perspective, where rigorous technique coexists with a personal expressive search. I paint because I find in oil a space of revelation: a way to understand the world and at the same time reinvent it through light, texture, and color.
