“The Interpreter”
This work offers a reflection on the figure of the musician as mediator between the inner world and visible reality. Through a geometric construction inspired by Cubism, the character is presented fragmented into multiple planes that, far from dividing him, reveal the complexity of his identity. The face, articulated through chromatic contrasts and angular structures, becomes a territory where emotion, memory, and thought coexist.
The guitar emerges as a natural extension of the figure, an instrument that not only produces sound but also acts as a vehicle for expression and dialogue. The symbolic elements surrounding the composition—the wine, the spiral, and the architectural forms—evoke the encounter between celebration, introspection, and culture, suggesting a scene suspended between the everyday and the poetic.
The vibrant relationship between deep blues, bright reds, and luminous yellows creates a visual tension that enhances the expressive character of the work. The free brushwork and the strong presence of the line reinforce the energy of the whole, giving movement and rhythm to the composition.
In “The Interpreter,” music becomes image and image becomes emotion. The work invites the viewer to complete the melody from their own experience, turning contemplation into an act of intimate and personal participation.
