The painting PAUSE belongs to the body of work “The Place Where I Am,” which explores inner states and the question of how we are present in the world. The series does not depict concrete landscapes, but rooms as expressions of perception, connectedness, and inner orientation.
At the center of the composition is the reduced form of a house – not as a depiction of a real place, but as a symbol of presence, protection, and belonging. The calm color palette, the open spatiality, and the minimalist visual language create an atmosphere of stillness and contemplation. The work invites the viewer to pause and experience a moment of tranquility.
The work was executed in oil on canvas and is in excellent condition. It has never been restored.
For shipping, the canvas is carefully removed from the stretcher, rolled, and securely packed in a sturdy protective tube to ensure optimal transport.
