Dutch artist Eleonora Stol presents the original mixed‑media work Roma (1992), hand‑signed, sold with a frame, measuring 63 × 53 cm.
Description from the seller
Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful, and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden and studied at the Free Academy in The Hague, later working for a long period from Amsterdam. Her artist name was also sometimes “La Roja,” referring to her preference for vivid colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by lively color use, dynamic forms, and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance, and dream imagery play a major role. She often used mixed techniques, including acrylic, oil paint, and pencil, giving her works a rich, textured appearance that directly taps into emotion. Her art is described as vibrant, energetic, and full of movement, almost as if the canvases “breathe.”
Dimensions of the work: 35 x 25 cm
Dimensions with frame: 63 x 53 cm
The work is viewable in our gallery. In addition, Art Dumay operates a framery (this year their 85th anniversary) and a restoration workshop. So if you would like to make use of these services, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
