Description from the seller
Lucile Roebuck Keeler: Radius-Diagonal, from La Lune en Rodage (Edition Panderma, Basel, 1965)
A signed Op Art lithograph by the American artist Lucile Roebuck Keeler, produced for La Lune en Rodage, the editioned anthology of post-war and contemporary art assembled by Carl Laszlo and published by Edition Panderma in Basel. The composition is a square field of 28 × 28 cm organised around a radius-and-diagonal system — concentric and intersecting lines that set the surface in optical motion. It belongs squarely to the kinetic and Op idiom of the mid-1960s, in the lineage of Vasarely, Soto and Yvaral, where perception itself becomes the subject of the work.La Lune en Rodage was one of the most ambitious collective editions of its period. Carl Laszlo gathered avant-garde, ZERO, kinetic and concrete artists into a single portable collection; across its volumes the project brought together figures such as Lucio Fontana, Victor Vasarely, Piero Manzoni, Enrico Castellani and Man Ray. Keeler's inclusion places her sheet within this international avant-garde context.
