Janine Delaporte (1928–2013) created Brief en envelop, an oil painting from 1977 in the Realism style depicting a still life, sold with frame by Galerie, original edition from the 1970–1980 period, with framed dimensions 42 × 51 cm (image 19 × 24 cm).
Description from the seller
Trompe-l'œil by the French artist Janine Delaporte, who was known for her exceptionally realistic paintings. In this work she shows her mastery in creating optical illusions: the depicted letter looks so lifelike that it seems it could be picked up directly from the painting. This refined technique, in which the boundary between reality and painting blurs, is characteristic of her oeuvre. A notable detail is that Delaporte has subtly incorporated her signature and dating into the painted postmark, making them appear as if hidden within the composition. The work testifies to her eye for detail, technical virtuosity, and sense of humor.
Dimensions: 19 x 24 cm
Dimensions with frame: 42 x 51 cm
Viewing is of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
