Description from the seller
PICTURE ME:
Save what you don’t want to lose; that is the thesis of this photo series. Photographer Ursula van de Bunte (1969) has to date made more than a hundred photographs of her model and muse Paul Rooyackers (1951). Born from her quiet fear of losing Paul, this process evolved from simple portrait photography into a unique series with more staged work, within which she repeatedly captures Paul in different ways and from new angles and tries to immortalize him. In this way the photos serve as an antidote to, and at the same time as a testament to, the inevitable transience. The Picture Me series received much recognition: a book with the same name was published, the photos were shown at various exhibitions in the Netherlands, and the series won the audience prize during the Fotovakschool exhibition in Amsterdam.
This concerns a print on high-quality Hahnemühle Photo Rag. The size is 41x31 and it is mounted on 2mm PVC. This concerns the first edition of 12 copies.
