Montblanc Donatio n Pen Limited Artisan Edition 8 for Herbert von Karajan, in 18 kt yellow gold with black lacquer, cap and clip set with diamonds totaling about 0.75 carats and 231 diamonds on the cap, numbered 8 of 8, with a two-tone 18 kt gold nib size M, 14.6 cm long and 3 cm in diameter, in unused condition and in working order.

FILLING FOUNTAIN PEN HOLDER "Herbert von Karajan" Donation Pen Limited Artisan Edition 8. Case made of 18k yellow gold and black lacquer. Conductor’s baton on the clip in white/yellow gold.
Nib keys with about 0.75 carat diamonds mounted. 231 diamonds top Montblanc quality.
The clip in the form of a baton is adorned with a further 37 diamonds.
In total, almost 270 diamonds were used, making this fountain pen unique (eight-shaped) with a radiance that even today, more than 20 years later, Montblanc itself would be hard pressed to match.
The authenticity of the writer can be proven by a purchase receipt from a reputable auction house. The documents, including the auction catalog, will be handed over to the buyer.
If desired, I can also arrange an authenticity certificate with Montblanc at my expense. The costs, upon inquiry with Montblanc Hamburg, are €90 plus insured shipping.

Herbert von Karajan was born on 5 April 1908 in Salzburg and died on 16 July 1989. He was one of the most outstanding conductors of the postwar era and of the 20th century in general. He led the Berlin Philharmonic for thirty-five years. It is estimated that Karajan sold over 200 million records, making him the most successful classical music recording artist of all time.
The craftsmen at Montblanc designed these versions of the nib to commemorate the 95th anniversary of Herbert von Karajan in 2003.
The size of the nibs is 146 Legrand. Charged by piston.
The cap as nib housing is made of 18-karat gold and black lacquer with the signature of Herbert von Karajan on the nib body.
The nibs are made of 18-karat gold with special motifs by Herbert von Karajan.
The star of the brand is made of mother-of-pearl.
Version in yellow gold, 8/8
Made from 18-karat yellow gold.
In the cap it contains 231 diamonds of 0.8 mm with a total weight of about 0.75 carat.
This cult of writing appeared on sale in February 2004 and was sold exclusively in select Montblanc boutiques and in the Montblanc Flagship.
